Dream Theater launches in South Africa | The Planner

A senior-led experience direction studio built around story, emotion, technology and production excellence.

SOUTH AFRICA: Dream Theater has launched as a founder-led and senior-led experience direction studio, helping organisations shape important client, leadership and thought-leadership moments.

Led by Founder & Experience Director Robby Robinson, the studio brings strategy, creative direction and production thinking together around one connected experience. Its work is designed for moments where trust, expertise, leadership and human connection need to land properly.

“A live experience is a moment of judgement.”

Robinson brings more than 30 years shaping live experiences across South Africa, the Middle East and the United Kingdom. At Dream Theater, he remains directly involved in the strategy, creative direction and key production decisions that shape each brief.

Dream Theater’s approach is purposeful and emotionally controlled. Story comes before decoration, technology has a clear role, and production is treated as part of the storytelling rather than a layer added at the end.

About Dream Theater

Dream Theater is a founder-led experience direction studio based in South Africa. We partner with organisations to design and deliver meaningful experiences that strengthen brands, engage stakeholders and create lasting emotional impact.

Rather than approaching projects as a traditional events company, we begin with the story, the purpose and the audience, then shape every element of the experience around those objectives. Our work spans leadership events, brand activations, conferences, launches, awards, stakeholder engagements and bespoke experiences where creativity, strategy and flawless execution come together.

Our belief is simple: every important event should achieve something beyond simply bringing people together. It should shift perceptions, strengthen relationships and leave people feeling something they will remember long after they leave the room.
