Greening a MICE gathering encompasses all aspects of the strategic planning process. By making choices at every level of MICE management, from site selection such as the CTICC to the serving of condiments, the environmental impact can be significantly reduced. Green MICE also incorporates social aspects including charitable contributions and humanitarian efforts.
While many organisations are working to make their MICE gatherings more eco-efficient, misconceptions about environmental practices are holding back many others.
Myths of Green MICE
Myth 1 Environmentally responsible meetings are too expensive;
Myth 2 If conservation cannot be 100 per cent why bother?
Myth 3 Eco-efficiency requires too much effort;
Myth 4 Only environmental types are making efforts to go green;
Myth 5 Individuals are powerless to change their workplaces and communities.
All these five myths are indeed myths and hold no truth.
