Miss South Africa 2016: Don’t miss out! | The Planner

South Africa will have a newly crowned Miss South Africa 2016 this Saturday, 19 March at Carnival City.
The winner stands to win prizes in excess of R2-million. This bouquet of prizes makes the pageant one of the richest beauty competitions in the world. Presented by Sun International in collaboration with Cell C, 12 contestants will walk the ramp in the final stage of the competition. Guests on the night and viewers watching the show from home will be treated to performances by the likes of Mi Casa, Prime Circle and Sketchy Bongo.
Outgoing Miss SA, Liesl Laurie will hand over her crown to her successor and wishes the new beauty queen well during her reign.

The 12 women who are in competition to be named Miss South Africa 2016 are: Elizabeth Molapo (Bloemfontein, Free State); Felicia Muwayi (Nelspruit, Mpumalanga); Luyolo Mngonyama (Umtata, Eastern Cape); Marciel Hopkins (Paarl, Western Cape); Mikaela Oosthuizen (Port Elizabeth, Eastern Cape); Ntandoyenkosi Kunene (Mkhondo, Mpumalanga); Reabetswe Sechoaro (Pretoria East, Gauteng); Ronette Chambers (Cape Town, Western Cape); Sarah Botes (Vanderbijlpark, Gauteng); Schané Venter (Alberton, Gauteng); Sharon-Rose Khumalo (Pretoria, Gauteng) and Tayla Skye Robinson (Roodepoort, Gauteng).

Returning as judges for Miss South Africa 2016 are magazine editor, poet and writer Kojo Baffoe; actress and TV personality Sophie Ndaba; Bloemfontein designer Casper Bosman and magazine editor and style icon Pnina Fenster. Joining the panel is businesswoman and former Miss South Africa Basetsana Kumalo.

Regarded as leaders and trend-setters in their respective fields, they will be judging contestants on intelligence, leadership, talent, physical fitness and a dedication to community service.
