Great event production is often about creating moments guests can feel before they can necessarily explain them – and at the Women in MICE Awards 2026, LaserX helped us do exactly that.
Held at Monte De Dios Wedding and Conference Venue on 5 August 2026, the Women in MICE Awards brought the business events industry together for an evening of recognition, connection and celebration under the theme Timeless Influence. From entertainment and décor to technical production and lighting, every element played a role in creating the atmosphere of the evening.
Among the talented technical partners working behind the scenes was LaserX, whose laser lighting added another visual dimension to the production and helped transform the room through light.
For us, this was about far more than simply making a room look beautiful. Lighting has the ability to shift energy, build anticipation and turnkey moments in an event programme into experiences. When the technical elements work seamlessly alongside décor, entertainment, staging and content, they become part of the storytelling – and that was exactly what we wanted for Women in MICE.
LaserX brings considerable experience to that process.
Operating since 1993, the company describes itself as South Africa’s longest-running laser production company, specialising in creating high-impact visual experiences using laser and water technology. Its solutions can scale from corporate environments to major stadium productions, with services including laser graphics, full-colour laser effects, outdoor laser projections and laser mapping.
And lasers are only part of the picture.
LaserX’s broader experiential offering includes water screens, water curtains, programmable fountains and WaterGraphic technology, which can use controlled falling water droplets to create words, logos and imagery. The company also provides low-fog and CO2 effects for productions requiring an additional theatrical or atmospheric element.
That breadth makes the company particularly interesting for event organisers looking beyond conventional lighting and searching for ways to create stronger entrances, reveals, branded moments, stage experiences and visual storytelling.
Importantly, spectacular effects also require specialist knowledge. LaserX places a strong emphasis on professional laser safety and operates according to International Laser Display Association (ILDA) safety guidelines.
