With 12 versatile event spaces available for hire, suitable for various event sizes from small intimate functions of 10 persons to large delegations of over 300 guests in a single event space at any one time, Rand Club is the ideal setting for high-profile functions such as conferences, weddings, workshops and meetings to name a few. The building itself is beautiful in every sense of the word. The marbled entrance greets guests upon arrival, where a sweeping grand staircase, seldom seen in this day and age, ushers visitors up to the second floor where the Main Ballroom is situated. Plush carpeting, delicate chandeliers and important works of art grace the walls, creating an ambiance of the highest level of sophistication. The Main Ballroom The Main Ballroom is one of the largest rooms in the Club and can accommodate up to 200 guests banquet style without a dance floor. Stately, with high arched ornate ceilings and plush carpeting, this room is the perfect reception area for grand gatherings. The Mvela Room The Mvela Room can accommodate up to 80 guests. This room is well suited for conferences and also provides for luncheons, dinners and functions such as small weddings, anniversaries, business meetings, and cocktail parties. The Anglo-Platinum Room A delicately intimate room, themed in light blue, and can accommodate up to 50 people. The Anglo-Platinum Room is a comfortable conference or meeting venue, with room for a grand meeting desk that can also be transformed into a dining table once your business formalities have concluded. The Rhodes Room Named after the founder of the club, the focal point of the room is a full length portrait of Cecil John Rhodes. The room is ideal for conference venues, small cocktail parties and business meetings and can accommodate up to 70 guests. One entire wall comprises of a bookcase complete with books dating back to the early part of the 20th century. The Armoury The Spencer Whiting Armoury Room is located on the mezzanine floor next door to the Library. Decorated in military regalia, this room can be transformed for business meetings and gatherings, or small intimate parties and can accommodate up to 80 guests. The Ward Room The Ward Room is a small room that can accommodate up to 12 guests around a large conference table. With a pale blue base, it is fantastically furnished with a variety of historical navy memorabilia. Ideal for board meetings or strategy discussions. The Main Bar Reputed to be the longest bar in Africa, this room exudes the luxury of a bygone era and transports one to a time and place where the city of Johannesburg was planned and built. The bar has richly varnished wood, magnificent lighting, and a long-standing tradition. The Main Bar is the perfect location for cocktail parties, celebrations and large gatherings, accommodating up to 120 guests. The Assore Sports Lounge Situated on the ground floor the Assore Sports Lounge is a wonderful space for larger gatherings, this can also be utilised as a conference or meeting venue or an elaborate Jazz evening. Tommy’s Bar An elegant and comfortable venue adjacent to the Main Bar, originally intended as a ladies bar when ladies were not allowed into the Rand Club in the early 1990's, now a popular venue for members. The Fly-Fisher Room (Available upon request) The Fly-Fisher Room is a small, intimate room which can accommodate up to 12 guests around a conference table, and is perfect for small intimate functions and corporate breakfasts. The Theatre Situated on the lower levers of the club, The Theatre offers a versatile space adjacent to The Billiards Room. A novel room, with a back-stage area for set-up of productions, The Theatre is the perfect space for intimate functions and gatherings. The Billiards Room Situated on the lower levels of the club, the Billiards Room is a grand sight with three full-sized billiard tables. With studded plush leather seats, and a host of hunting trophies adorning the walls, the Snooker Room provides an intimate space for social engagements.
