The EY World Entrepreneur Award program, launched in Africa in 1998 and operates in more than 60 countries globally, identifying and celebrating entrepreneurs who lead successful, dynamic companies challenging traditional business ideology.
EY is widely recognized as a world leader in advising, guiding and identifying high growth entrepreneurs and companies. The Southern African program seeks participants from the following 10 countries; Angola, Namibia, Mozambique, Botswana, Malawi, Mauritius, South Africa, Zambia, Madagascar and Zimbabwe.
The Awards consisted of 3 main Entrepreneur categories (Emerging, Exceptional and Master) for nomination with exceptional companies in each category. The Emerging category nominees consisted of Zaida Enver and Guido Ceruti from Pure Grit Project and Exhibitions Management, Anton Rossouw from Life Path Health, Fatima Vawda 27four Investment Managers and Mitch Marescia from Camargue Underwriting Managers. Exceptional category nominees were as follows; Ran Neu-Ner and Gil Oved from The Creative Council, Raymond Hipkin and Mergan Naidoo from Goldrush Gaming, Jurie Bester from Junit Manufacturing, Kirit Naik from Rank Zimbabwe and Khudu Pitje from New GX Capital Holdings. Master Category nominees included Allan and Margaret Hirsh from Hirschβs, Stephen Brooks from Balwin Properties and Peter Muntford from Super Group and a Lifetime Achievement Award nomination for Jabulani Mabuza.
The EY World Entrepreneur Awards, the 16th of which is held annually at the Inanda Polo Club, Sandton concluded on the 29 November 2016 with an incredible ceremony, honoring each entrepreneur who not only contributes significantly to our economy but makes a significant impact within their communities and inspires others to follow in their footsteps.
