In the heart of the Boland, the ever popular ATKV Oesfees takes place again on Saturday, March 25. Countless South African celebrities will be there to celebrate the end of the festival. Solms-Delta and ATKV’s cooperation has helped the festival grow from strength to strength.
The ATKV Harvest Festival is a festival of music. Richard Astor launched it in April 2008 to annually celebrate the end of harvest. The festival is just growing bigger and bigger every year. The festival is a must on the cultural calendar.
On Saturday, 25 March, the annual ATKV Oesfees will be celebrating its first decade in existence at the beautiful Solms Delta wine estate in the heart of the Boland.
Often referred to as South Africa’s most authentic harvest festival, the ATKV Oesfees is dedicated to acknowledging the rich musical and cultural heritage of the Franschhoek Valley’s local community by bringing together local farm workers and farm owners to celebrate and give thanks for the harvest.
Performances by authentic local acts, such as Oom Hannes Coetzee, the Akkedis Band, Manouche, Nick Turner, Radio Kalahari Orkes, Les Javan and Churchil Naude, local culinary delights and, needless to say, the delightful Solms Delta wines, ensure that this event is not to be missed.
