The sixth edition of the annual Lilizela Tourism Awards organised by South African Tourism was held in Johannesburg in November. Minister of Tourism Derek Hanekom said in his opening address, “It is a real privilege to be here with you to celebrate your successes and achievements. That’s what tonight is all about: recognising and rewarding tourism players, businesses and the people on the ground who collectively make South Africa the great global destination that it is.” Attending the gala banquet on behalf of City Lodge Hotel Group were chief operations officer Lindiwe Sangweni-Siddo and operations director Tony Balabanoff plus several hotel general managers. The Group received the following awards for Accommodation in the Service Excellence category:
