Event Industry Summit to shape the future of the event Industry | The Planner

The MICE industry has evolved with more event management departments being created within the corporate and association markets than ever before.

The reasons are clear.  With unsubstantiated charge structures, double-dipping (fee andcommissions), non-delivery of contracted services – the buyer/end-user has taken decisive measures to ensure more ‘bang for their buck’.

Similarly member associations are under the spotlight with laying bare their real benefits including the ‘hand-on-heart’ codes of conduct yet apparently with limited to no monitoring, mediation or re-course being evident to the MICE industry at large.

Two panel discussions will address these two topics at Hackle Brooke’s conference venue corner Jan Smuts Avenue and Conrad Drive with gratis parking on Thursday 13 March.  The strap-line for the Event Industry Summit explains to the industry that this gathering will be ‘Shaping the Future of the Event Industry’.

Under the watchful facilitation of Michael Jackson – the first discussion tackles professional presenters. Speaker selection is on the agenda as well as their fees and agency commission structures.  The second will detail member associations and their place on this planet.

The MICE Academy’s research into effective member associations and the reasons for their particular industry sector brand being held in high regard will be shared with the delegates.

Participation is complimentary yet booking is essential.  An excellent lunch by this well-renowned caterer together with a targeted exhibition should make the EIS worthy of the time to attend.
