“Over the years, we have done our best to keep up with the demands of a growing exhibition, conference and events industry,” explains Johannesburg Expo Centre CEO, Craig Newman. “As a result, we are the home of South Africa’s most-celebrated consumer event, The Rand Show, as well as many other popular trade and consumer shows. As the chosen host of many large events including Automechanika, Johannesburg International Motor Show, Electra Mining, Interbuild, Trans Africa, Propak and Sexpo, JEC has proven its flexibility and proficiency time and again. “The beauty of our facilities is that no event is too large or too small,” says Newman. “Whether it’s an awards ceremony for 50 people or an internationally-recognised music festival for 40 000 fans, there is a space available with a dedicated team of hard-working professionals.”
Reflecting on a busy and highly successful 2013, Newman takes great pride in the achievements of JEC and his professional team. “We were presented with a host of new and challenging opportunities last year and it is clear that innovation was the name of the game in 2013,” he says.
It seems that 2014 will be no different. “There are already so many stellar events on the calendar for 2014 and we aim to meet each challenge with the same professionalism, flexibility and superb African hospitality that we have done in 2013,” Newman says. “The JEC will always deliver an experience that exceeds initial expectations.”
