The Southern African Association for the Conference Industry (SAACI) organised the ‘Proof of concept’ event on the behalf of the South African Events Council. The hybrid event took place in five cities across South Africa and online on Wednesday, 22 July 2020. The idea was to prove the efficacy of the hybrid event concept and show the industry that events can be held during lockdown – safely, and effectively.

The face-to-face event components were held at: Century City Conference Centre (Cape Town), Southern Sun Elangeni & Maharani (Durban), the Focus Rooms (Johannesburg), Running Waters Exclusive Venue (Port Elizabeth) and the CSIR International Convention Centre (Pretoria).
The live streaming was managed by Magnetic Storm, with support from the following companies who each recorded at a venue: Multi-Media (Cape Town), Selbys (Durban), AV Active (Johannesburg), Magnetic Storm (Port Elizabeth) and EPH Group (Pretoria).
