The Fairway Hotel, Spa and Golf Resort recently completed the GC-Mark Excellent Business Hotel Assessment process and subsequently became the first hotel in South Africa and, in fact, Africa to obtain this prestigious certification.
Christopher Trimble, general manager of The Fairway points out that he is exceptionally proud of the team’s contribution to the assessment process which now places The Fairway Hotel, Spa & Golf Resort in an exclusive circle of world-class hotels. “With a surplus of anonymous hotel reviews on the Internet, reliable certificates such as the German-based GC-Mark offer a valuable and objective alternative,” he added.
DQS chief executive officer, Francois Labuschagne points out that the GC Mark for Excellent Business Hotels is based on the foundation of ISO9001:2008 and principles of the new ISO9001:2015 for Business Management Systems with built-in risk management and prevention focus. These include the DIN ISO10002: Customer Satisfaction & Concerns Handling, and other ISO elements such as base EHS/18001 principles and Hotel Security Controls.
“It is important for an organisation to book a hotel with confidence, safe in the knowledge that any hotel awarded with the GC-Mark can deliver the required service in an orderly, system-driven manner,” Labuschagne said.
He added that trust is the most valuable currency in the world. It is hard to win and easy to lose. A GC-Mark is like a familiar face in the crowd. It inspires trusts in customers and makes them feel at home.
