The new concept Courtyard Hotel Waterfall City is nearing completion, which means it is on track to open in the first quarter of 2021. Situated in the Waterfall City mixed-use commercial, retail, office and residential area, including the iconic Mall of Africa shopping and entertainment complex, it caters to both business and leisure travellers, offering easy access to and from Johannesburg and Pretoria.

The ten-storey hotel boasts a roof-top function area with spectacular views, a conference facility that can accommodate up to 120 pax banquet style or be split into three meeting rooms for 30 pax each, 164 rooms (including four suites), meeting rooms, a ground-floor restaurant, swimming pool and gym.
Fast and reliable WiFi is also available throughout the property, while plenty of secure parking can be found in the basement.
The hotel’s aesthetic has been described as modern yet elegant, with plenty of artwork and greenery to make guests feel at home. The architecture has embraced airiness, with double-volume spaces and lots of natural lighting flooding in from full-length windows.
Once operational, the group will have a total of 63 hotels in six countries offering 8 070 rooms to both business and leisure travellers.
The new development, the result of a land and building lease agreement with JSE-listed property company Attacq, will be the sixth Courtyard Hotel within the City Lodge group – and the fifth in Gauteng.
