On Friday the 12 September, the Holiday Inn Sandton Rivonia Road team were nominated to take part in the #ALSIceBucketChallenge and to donate to this cause by Protea Hotel Balalaika Sandton and Crowne Plaza Johannesburg – The Rosebank.

General manager, Nikola Jelenovic, gathered the whole Holiday Inn Sandton team outside the hotel in peak-hour traffic to take the challenge where everyone could see it. We set up a table with multiple ice-buckets, towels and an ALS donation box to encourage others to take part in this worthy cause, even if they didn’t want to be covered in ice-cold water.
It was great to see that so many staff participated in the ice-bucket challenge, and it was even better to see how they reacted to the ice-cold water!
As part of their #ALSIceBucketChallenge, Holiday Inn Sandton, Rivonia Road have chosen to nominate Crowne Plaza Nairobi Nairobi headed by Allan Clingham, the staff at Protea Hotel Imperial in Pietermaritzburg, and the team at Extrabold Hotel Management to complete the challenge and to donate to the ALS cause.
