Azure Restaurant at the five-star Twelve Apostles Hotel and Spa in Cape Town has secured its place on the prestigious American Express® Platinum Fine Dining Awards list for the third year running. Azure was amongst only 17 restaurants in the Cape Peninsula to have been honoured in the prestigious 2015 listing.
The American Express® Platinum Fine Dining Awards is celebrating its 17th year and continues to recognise excellence in fine dining. The awards pay tribute to the country’s restaurants that consistently achieve excellence and creativity and provide an undeniably exquisite culinary experience. This year saw 89 top restaurants being honoured with the sought-after accolade – a reflection of South Africa’s development as an eclectic fine dining nation.
At the helm of the judging panel for the American Express® Platinum Fine Dining Awards 2015 was Tamsin Snyman, author, publisher and Academy Chair for the region Africa & the Indian Ocean Islands for The World’s 50 Best Restaurant Awards. Snyman was handed the baton by long time restaurant critic Victor Strugo who held this position since the beginning of the awards.
Flanked by the Twelve Apostles mountain range and overlooking the Atlantic Ocean, diners are spoilt with sensational views and an elegant, welcoming setting inspired by the restaurant’s marine surroundings. Executive Chef Christo Pretorius and his team continue Azure’s tradition of serving original cuisine that showcase international influences using fresh seasonal produce while rising sommelier star Gregory Mutambe presides over Azure’s award-winning wine list. Warm, genuine service completes the memorable Red Carnation Hotel dining experience.
