Interesting read is the upward trend of the UK MICE industry. Quoted in Meetpie.com published by CAT Publications is the latest data from the Institute of Practitioners in Advertising. ‘Events budgets have increased by almost eight per cent, It also means marketing budgets have now been revised upwards consistently for the last two years’.
With the British economic tide turning – IBTM Africa Hosted Buyer Programme will welcome 60 Hosted Buyers from the UK and the rest of Europe, the Americas, the Middle East and Asia Pacific, all of whom have proven purchasing power and guaranteed business to place in Africa. IBTM Africa taking place 13 to 15 April 2015 at the Cape Town International Conference Centre (CTICC) is surely where African MICE suppliers should be concentrating their business development efforts in the coming years.
Early reports point to enlarged enquiries for next year’s IBTM Africa following the highly successful inaugural IBTM Africa held earlier this year.
IBTM Africa 2015 is expecting 2,160 one-to-one pre-scheduled appointments between exhibitors and Hosted Buyers over two days, an average of 36 business appointments per Exhibitor. Hosted Buyers are expected to have an average annual budget of US$1.6 million.
A limited number of IBTM Africa exhibitors will be provided with the additional bonus of a paid subscription to The MICE Academy’s highly valuable online CPD (Continuing Professional Development) Programme tailor-made for the MICE sector. This will enable an experienced staff to be recognised and rewarded by accumulating credits through easy testing methods.
