Johannesburg is the world’s biggest man-made forest, boasting over 10 million trees.
However, this number is steadily increasing thanks to projects such as the Greening Soweto project launched by City Parks which aims to plant 200 000 trees in the township.
This high amount of trees combat the greenhouse effect as well as reduce city noises.
