Landmark hotel wins Innovative Excellence Award | The Planner

DSC1869In the same week that the Drostdy Hotel in Graaff-Reinet was awarded five star grading from the Tourism Grading Council of South Africa, this historic landmark hotel was also given top honours in the SA Property Owners Association (SAPOA) Excellence Awards held in Durban when it won the Overall Heritage Award.

The SAPOA Convention Innovative Excellence Awards recognise the significance of property developers’ contribution to the South African economy and the enhancement of their industry.

The Drostdy Hotel and several other historic buildings on the site have been restored to reveal, in a contemporary way, this landmark property’s heritage and stature. A team of leading South African professionals including dhk Architects, interior designer Stephen Falcke and landscape architect Jan Blok collaborated on the project to bring together luxurious modern facilities and innovative interior and exterior designs, including the new De Camdeboo Restaurant.
