The Wild Coast Sun provides the battleground for the highly anticipated War on the Shore Championship Boxing event on 6 November 2015. The event, organised by Kalakoda Promotions in association with Sijuta Promotions and supported by OR Tambo Municipality, will feature an action-packed fight card to kick off a long-term plan to revive boxing in the region and make the Wild Coast Casino a fight mecca.
Some of the best boxers from KwaZulu-Natal and the Eastern Cape will battle it out for top titles. Notable fights on the bill include the Cruiserweight match up between Jaden Mathews and Congolese import Mugabon Mudimba. Both fighters have developed strong followings with Cruiserweight prospect Mathews hailing from Durban.
The international flavor continues with the main event featuring Argentinean Raul Eliseo against Luzuko Siyo over 10 rounds and the main supporting bout for the WBA Pan-African Mini Flyweight Title between Mthatha’s Siphamandla Baleni and WBF World Champion Luyanda Nkwankwa from Cape Town.
“The staging of championship boxing aligns with our strategy to provide diverse and exciting entertainment for our guests and community. We are confident that we can position the Wild Coast Casino as a fight hub and bring local boxing back to its former status,” says Myan Moodley, general manager of Wild Coast Sun.
The event format will be a box and dine with corporate tables on offer with a three-course meal as well as demarcated seating and standing areas. This event is ideal for the whole family and promises to be a memorable night against the backdrop of the Wild Coast Sun Casino.
