The event greening factor is growing within the various sectors.
There was an array of presenters from case-studies by: Scan Display’s Justin Hawes and Compex’s Nigel Walker. Both proved that an exhibitor can indeed reduce their carbon footprint by heeding sound advice from these two highly-experienced industry players.
Nicholas de Klerk’s headline presentation was entitled ‘The Junk Speaks to Me’ which was riveting stuff as to what Nicholas can do with bits of cardboard tubing, glass jars and real effective lighting. He deserved to be the keynote speaker as his innovative designs could be emulated if one has the talent and extreme creativity of a true believer such as Nicholas.
The programme was so jam-packed that a Part 2 will highlight the presentations on: transport, catering and accommodation.
The Event Greening Forum is coming of age which will be confirmed with the first-ever greening standards for the event industry scheduled for release in early 2016.
It’s time the events industry checked on EGF membership before the fees are increased which is coupled with the outstanding benefits available only through the Event Greening Forum.
