The Maslow Hotel, Sun Internationals new business hotel opens on 07 January 2013 following a R250-million refurbishment of the hotel formally known as The Grayston.

Garth Collins, Acting Chief Executive Sun International said, “Growing our presence in Sandton has been a major focus for Sun International and I am delighted that we now add our first business-centric hotel to our portfolio of hotels in Southern Africa. The Maslow Hotel is an entirely new class of hotel, adept at helping guests to balance work and life.
We were inspired by the psychologist Abraham Maslow and his well-known hierarchy of needs, hence the new name of the hotel, and have applied his straight forward approach to understanding customers needs in our service philosophy, says The Maslow Hotels new General Manager, Johan Scheepers. To compete in this climate, it is imperative that we treat our guests as individuals, and customise, customise, customise. That means remembering details such as a guest’s pillow preference, choice of mineral water or beer for the mini-bar and having the technology and intelligence in place to facilitate business and help individuals succeed both personally and professionally. The service has to live up to expectations and the experience has to be absolutely seamless from check-in to check-out.
Situated in the heart of Sandtons business district, home to top investment banks, financial institutions, the Gautrain station, and the Johannesburg Stock Exchange, The Maslow Hotel (corner Rivonia Road and Grayston Drive in Sandton) offers some of the best corporate facilities in Sandton, including complimentary high speed internet access throughout the hotel, 13 meeting rooms, conference centre with a multi divisible ballroom and auditorium, techno gym and the unique Wayfarer Lounge.
The contemporary design and urban vibe of the public areas, guest rooms and services at The Maslow Hotel are inspired by Sandtons vibrant business culture. The average room size is 32m is fitted with a power shower, a media hub so guests can listen to music, watch movies or connect with family back home on the 40-inch flat screen TV, complimentary Wi-Fi as well as a speciality coffee maker. For extra convenience rooms are soundproofed with black out curtains.
The design reflects the spirit of the modern traveller energetic yet casual, flexible and friendly. It is a complete reinvention. Designed by Graeme Holtshausen of Dakota Design, the philosophy is compellingly simplistic and in tune with the oasis setting using textures, colours and materials that reflect Johannesburgs warm climate whilst incorporating every modern convenience. says John Lee Director Resorts Operations.
