Serious food for thought in the Mice Focus Group | The Planner

‘The catering was appalling’.  How many times has that been the first reply when a conference, award banquet, product launch or brain-storm session outcome was mentioned?    The real answer to the catering should be more questions – who provided the brief, how was it interpreted and what did the organiser fail to tell the venue management?

The newly-formatted MICE Focus Group scheduled for the 30th August at the five star Gallagher Convention Centre is going to pin participant’s ears back.   The Academy’s top-draw presenter, South African Chefs Association’ Thomas Overbeck will reveal exactly what should happen well-in-advance of the booking date to ensure the catering required for the type of gathering planned is delivered to the attendees, guests &/or delegates.

Deciding on the correct catering for the occasion is a combination of effective communications between all the stakeholders. The outcomes of the essential inputs will result in an orchestrated symphony in perfect catering harmony with stunning results.

The Focus Group’s scene-setter will briefly touch on the foundation elements with some key issues which govern all catering decisions.   From the scene-setter – the presentation shifts to participants gaining an in-depth understanding from the hands-on, highly-knowledgeable expert – Thomas Overbeck.   His background and experience is formidable – which will be shared in preparation for the CPD (Continuing Professional Development) credit process together with the outcomes-based component.

Diarise Friday 30th August and email info@miceacademy.co.za with your intention to attend -as participation is limited.
