Aimia, a global leader in loyalty management, in partnership with Dragonfly Africa, who was the South African Destination Management Company, was awarded a SITE Crystal Award at the recent annual SITE (Society of Incentive Travel Executives) Congress in Florida, USA.
SITE is a global network of meeting and event professionals. The highest level of workplace performance is reached by individuals and teams that are strongly motivated. The SITE Crystal Awards are known as the “Oscars” of the Incentive Travel Industry and serve to honour top professionals and programs that recognize the power of connecting motivational experiences to solid business results.
Only 10 SITE Crystals were awarded for this year.
The award was in the category – “Responsible Experiences – Most Impactful Effort Toward Corporate Social Responsibility as Part of an Incentive Program”.
This was a feature of the 2012 Microsoft Gold Club Incentive for 650 people, where a school supplier drive was held at Sun City.
Microsoft’s goal was to create a memorable experience that tied back to one of the company’s initiatives, “to empower youth to change their world.” With this in mind, Aimia and Dragonfly Africa designed a program to equip four local schools with the supplies the schoolchildren needed. The donations came from the trip participants themselves.
The Dragonfly Africa Group has won eight SITE Crystal Awards since 1995.
