What tickles your summer holiday fancy, and where do you like to spend your time?
Protea Hotels did a three-question survey of its thousands of guests who spent their summer holiday chillaxing in hotels across the country after a long, hard year and it’s official: the beach wins hands down!
The first question, naturally enough, was about the ideal sunshine getaway location and for 58% of holidaymakers the beach is the place to be. Some 20% voted for the bush, with slick city life coming in third (13%), trailed by a quiet country getaway with just 9%.
And it seems that sunshine isn’t the only outdoor attraction; when guests were asked where they’d prefer to fool around on those long summer nights, the preference of 52% of respondents was getting jiggy under the stars and only 48% opting for “get a room”.
Impishness was clearly the prevailing summer theme if one considers the last question: Are you naughty or nice? Would you grab someone’s beach chair if they walked away from it for just a few minutes?”
The answer? A whopping 69% had no qualms about a little light-fingered beach shopping, so the moral of the story for anyone planning an Easter holiday break is HOLD ON TO YOUR DECK CHAIR! If not, someone may just be planning to take for a test drive in more ways than one!
