Kirstenbosch jewels on display | The Planner

Jewellery made to commemorate Kirstenbosch National Botanical Garden’s Centenary Year is on display to the public at the Cape Grace Hotel, until the 15th June.

Inspired by the flora and fauna that makes Kirstenbosch famous, the collection has been created by seven of South Africa’s leading awarding winning jewellers.

The best design was awarded to Cape Grace’s own in-house jeweller, Rob Burton of Platandia, for their King Protea Tiara. Made in platinum, the tiara features all 23 of the iconic animals, flora and fauna found in Kirstenbosch gardens.

An auction of the jewellery pieces will take place on the 17th June 2014 at the Old Mutual Conference Centre, Kirstenbosch.
