Any event under one dome | The Planner

Not only has the Coca-Cola dome become recognised as an outstanding concert venue, it’s also entrenched itself as one of the most versatile entertainment spaces in Johannesburg. Easily accessible for special events and conferences, the venue has an experienced management team in place. Their versatility means that they are the perfect venue for you to make sure your brand connects to your target audience.

INDOOR SPORTING EVENTS
The 11 000sqm arena can accommodate any indoor sporting event from the Extreme Fighting Championships Africa and the World Wrestling Entertainment to Equestrian Show Jumping. The Coca-Cola dome provided the perfect venue for these exciting events.

The dome recently hosted the 2014 Reebok Crossfit Africa Regional competition. They hosted these exceptional athletes to find the fittest people in Africa. It was a huge success, with truly enthusiastic public support so we opened our doors early.“What a fantastic team at the Coca-Cola dome. Everyone we dealt with from the start of our event to completion was professional, helpful and a pleasure to deal with”, said Cindy Hind, Event Director, Reebok CrossFit Games Africa Regionals 2014.

MUSIC CONCERTS AND COMEDY SHOWS
Following the phenomenal success of the African debut of the world’s leading dance event, Sensation ‘Innerspace’ in 2013, we’re now offering dance enthusiasts the experience of Armin van Buuren’s new Armin Only Intense World Tour this weekend.

The dome welcomed Jeff Dunham in May for the Disorderly Conduct Tour, and the venue rang with laughter for two and a half hours straight! Dunham brought back old favourites for everyone to enjoy, and was the perfect antidote to the coming winter weather.

DISNEY ON ICE
The family favourite Disney on Ice is back at the venue for the third successive time. Celebrating 100 Years of Magic, this sing-along skating spectacular starts just in time for school holidays, and opens on Friday, 11 July. Due to the success and popularity of the event, additional shows have been added. “The venue transforms from a dance floor into an ice rink. From scorching hot DJ’s and sultry dance moves, we’ll cool the venue down when we lay the ice for Disney – once again demonstrating the diversity of the venue,” says Warren Green, commercial manager of the Coca-Cola dome.

CONFERENCES AND EVENTS
While the very versatile venue is the forefront of the entertainment scene, they have also been busy with private conferences.  In February they hosted the Independent Field Advertisers (IFA) Clientéle Life Rally, which celebrated the top-performing IFAs. The increased visitor numbers made this function one of the biggest events on the IFA calendar. We also hosted a one day conference for the Universal Church of the Kingdom of God which was hugely successful and we had 12 000 visitors, who filled the Coca Cola dome.

From successful conferences to memorable banquets, this arena will change once again as when they host the annual Flight Centre National Ball this July.
