JEC CEO elected onto UFI board | The Planner

The Johannesburg Expo Centre’s CEO, Craig Newman, has been elected as a member of the main Board of Directors of UFI, The Global Association of the Exhibition Industry.

Newman has been successfully elected as a member of the Board of Directors for a three year mandate, which will commence immediately after the UFI General Assembly in Bogota on 30 October 2014.

UFI, The Global Association of the Exhibition Industry is the association of trade show organisers, fairground owners, national and international associations of the exhibition industry, and its partners. As of 2014, it has more than 600 members from 85 countries.

“On behalf of the UFI President I convey our sincere congratulations to Craig Newman, and wish him every success during his mandate as a member of the Board and have no doubt that he will represent Africa with distinction,” says Paul Woodward, managing director, UFI.

As a privileged forum for dialogue, UFI’s main goal is to represent, promote and support its members and the exhibition industry worldwide. The UFI plays the role of an efficient networking platform where professionals of the exhibition industry can exchange ideas, experiences, studies and research. It also offers educational training opportunities through a variety of professional seminars, continuously enhancing the skills of the industry’s professionals.
