There is a new man at the helm at Sun International’s Wild Coast Sun, Myan Moodley. He recently took the position of general manager after a successful tenure at the Southern Sun Cape Sun Hotel. He brings a wealth of experience to the Wild Coast Sun, having worked in the dynamic hospitality and entertainment industry for over 20 years.
During his career, he has been the general manager at no less than eight properties, and was part of the leadership team that opened four hotels for the Southern Sun group, including Southern Sun Maputo.
He joins Sun International at a time of significant positive change, and is keen to quickly finalise the staffing and management appointments so that the Wild Coast Sun can step boldly into its new era.
“This is an exciting challenge for me, and I have my sights set on growing the Wild Coast Sun as the preferred gaming and entertainment destination in the region through service and operational excellence.
“We are in the process of assembling the new, refocused team that will steer the resort into its new era. There are some really exciting plans and developments for the Wild Coast Sun. Watch this space,” says Moodley.
Moodley, who has qualifications in both hotels and business management, has a way with people – a trait essential in the entertainment and hotel industry where people are the centre of it all. He is a firm believer in teamwork and that anything can be achieved if everyone is committed to working together towards common goals.
As part of his role, he will ensure that the Wild Coast Sun Casino and Hotel’s strategy is aligned with the environmental and operational imperatives of the streamlined Sun International group.
He is thrilled to be living in the Eastern Cape renowned for its warm people and climate.
“I love the people, the sense of community, and the food. It is a fantastic place to be working,” concludes Moodley.
