Protea Hotel Fire & Ice Menlyn is set to open in March next year and has gone live for accommodation and conference bookings. And the new conference centre adjacent to the hotel will also be the only space to gather for a meeting, conference, unveiling or launch next year, says Danny Bryer, Director of Sales, Marketing and Revenue for Protea Hotels.
“The conference centre is so large that you can drive half a dozen Aston Martins into it and still have room to spare. The lower floor alone can accommodate 350 people,” says Bryer.
“With a designer hotel comes designer interiors and designer service and offerings,” says Bryer. “We’re not going to give away too much quite yet, but people who know the brand from Melrose Arch and Cape Town know that Fire & Ice! hotels are edgy on every level.”
The hotel boasts 178 rooms, of which five are suites. There is a restaurant, a designer bar and superb lifestyle spaces integrated around one another to provide the energy with which the brand is synonymous.
“Pretoria has always been and remains an important business node not just in South Africa but internationally. This is where the embassies are, after all. In fact, after Washington DC, Pretoria has the largest number of embassies in the world.
“There is a high demand for excellent accommodation with large conferencing facilities in Pretoria. The location of Protea Hotel Fire & Ice! Menlyn is perfect, plus there are 250 secure underground parking spaces,” says Bryer.
Booking are now open for March 2015.
The capital city’s image is getting hotter – and cooler – as South Africa counts down the days to the opening.
The hotel’s GDS codes are Galileo (B0918), Amadeus (PRYMEN), Sabre (270784) and Worldspan (PMENY).
Bookings can be done through www.proteahotels.com or through the central reservations office on 0861 11 9000.
