The first Low Carb High Fat debate in Cape Town | The Planner

The Cape Town International Convention Centre (CTICC) hosted the first Low Carb High Fat (LCHF) lifestyle conference in February 2015.

“400 medical professionals attended the conference, assisting valuable knowledge exchange and providing sceptics with the opportunity to debate topics with the international line up of low-carb specialists”, says CEO Julie-May Ellingson.

CTICC and Cape Town has garnered a reputation as a top meeting destination to advance the knowledge economy.

“Being able to host gatherings that facilitate the progression of science is an enormous accolade for the centre and Cape Town”, adds Ellingson.

The 4 day public debate generated interest both within the medical industry and from the public.

Dr Andreas Eenfeldt, Dr Ann Childers, Christine Cronau, Dr Eric Westman, Gary Taubes, Dr Jason Fung, Jimmy Moore, and Dr Robert Cywes were among the 17 speakers.

The Old Mutual Health Convention will conclude on Sunday 22 February, with a sold out public day of over 600 seats.
