The Cape Town International Convention Centre (CTICC) will welcome approximately 3 000 medical specialists at the World Congress of Nephrology (WCN) from 13 – 16 March 2015.
Nephrology care remains critically low in Sub-Saharan Africa with the exception of Kenya, South Africa, Sudan and Nigeria. The congress will focus on renal health care issues relevant to Africa, helping mobilise the advancement of renal care in African regions where resources are scarce.
“We are honoured to be hosting the first World Congress of Nephrology in Africa, providing an essential platform to disseminate information among key role players and empower communities to where it is needed most in order to strengthen nephrology care on the continent”, says Julie-May Ellingson, CTICC CEO.
Cape Town is renowned for its medical and scientific fraternities, which is an appealing value proposition for international conferences such as the WCN.
The WCN is the first international association conference for yet another bumper conference year at the CTICC. Some of the international events highlights on the cards for 2015 include the World Congress of the International Federation of Aesthetic Dentistry 2015 and the 46th Union World Conference on Lung Health 2015 which is expected to attract 1500 and 2500 delegates respectively.
