Do you remember the extravagant five star Carlton Hotel with its trademark upside down Y-shape architecture?
This historical landmark hosted the rich and famous in lavish luxury, with guests such as Hilary Clinton, Margaret Thatcher, Whitney Houston and Mick Jagger to name a few.
Having hosted numerous memorable and up-market events, the hotel was the elite venue of choice and was regarded as a rich status symbol for Johannesburg. Now, however, it stands empty and abandoned after it was mothballed approximately 18 years ago.
