The fresh and new contemporary Pool Bar menu at The Table Bay has made lazing at the poolside, overlooking the ocean, a gastronomical delight. The Pool Bar’s refreshed offering hints at the familiar, but with a special Table Bay twist.
“Ordinary has turned extraordinary at our Pool Bar. Trusted favourites have been spruced-up with a defining, South African flavour, and discerning quality. Burgers, sandwiches and other poolside meals are as deliciously-tantalising as they are satisfying,” says The Table Bay’s executive chef, Jocelyn Myers-Adams.
Sandwiches are available on a choice of fresh breads, including homestyle multigrain rye, cracked wheat or sourdough bread. There is a choice of five fillings, all with a gourmet touch. For instance the herb roasted free range chicken mayo sandwich is ramped-up with avocado and rocket, while the tuna mayo sandwich titillates the taste buds with a mix of coriander, baby spinach, carrot, fennel and red onion. The roast Franschoek trout sandwich is decked with garden greens, red onions, capers and cream cheese.
The Pool Bar burger is a satisfying stack comprising a handmade Farmer Angus all-beef patty, cos lettuce, tomato, Healey’s cheddar, red onion slices, and homemade cucumber pickle. Another addition with a decidedly-local flavour is the Cape Malay chicken and slaw roti. For the carbo conscious, there is a selection of freshly prepared salads.
Embodying the ethos of Cape Town’s vibrant social culture, the expansive pool deck is a place to unwind, socialise and enjoy sumptuous meals while taking in breathtaking views of the ocean, Table Mountain, and the vibrant V&A Waterfront. The heated mineral pool faces the sun all day and is open daily, weather permitting, from September to May.
