Hotel and gaming group Sun International, and three of its properties; Carnival City in Gauteng, Sun City in the North West, and GrandWest in the Western Cape, have been ranked amongst South Africa’s coolest in the 2015 Sunday Times Generation Next Awards.
Sun International was ranked third in the Coolest Hotel Group category while Sun City soared into second place in the Coolest Local Entertainment Destination category. Carnival City ranked fifth and GrandWest ninth in the same category.
“We are delighted that the Sun International brand and three of our properties have been acknowledged in this year’s Sunday Times Generation Next Awards. It is imperative to the long term sustainability of any brand to ensure that it is recognized and remains relevant to young people. That Sun International, Sun City, Carnival City, and GrandWest are ranked amongst the coolest following stringent audit processes is significant.
“These accolades bear testimony to our emphasis on delivering a quality product, and relevant, cosmopolitan entertainment experiences for people of all ages. They also speak to our employees’ commitment to service excellence, quality, professionalism, and innovation. Of course, we cannot become complacent and we must continually enhance and diversify our offerings to ensure that we remain relevant to young consumers,” says Madelein Ӧzok the group general manager: gaming marketing at Sun International.
The Sunday Times Generation Next Study, now in its 11th year, is the leading annual youth brand preference and consumer behaviour survey. There are two components to the overall study, the first which focuses on brand preference and the second which focuses on lifestyle and consumer behaviour.
