Johannesburg-based hotel and resort portfolio, Dream Hotels & Resorts has acquired the distinguished Le Franschhoek, located in the picturesque Franschhoek Wine Valley.
“Bringing Le Franschhoek into the Dream Hotels & Resorts fold has been a long-time ambition of mine,” says portfolio co-founder Weston Dickson. “Le Franschhoek’s acquisition will greatly enhance our diverse portfolio of hotels and resorts and we see it as one of our flagship properties, appealing to an already established international and local corporate and leisure market.”
“Its close proximity to Cape Town also means that Le Franschhoek has become the perfect weekend getaway for locals seeking a base from which to experience the beautiful Cape Winelands, as well as for conference delegates requiring a relaxing break after mid-week meetings and conferences,” says resort project director Brent Dickson.
Previously part of the Three Cities portfolio of properties, Le Franschhoek is one of the most exclusive getaways offering breathtaking, panoramic views of the vineyards and award-winning facilities.
A variety of 63 stylish rooms and villas, an award-winning spa and two restaurants, including the elegant Dish Restaurant and outdoor Le Verger provide guests with a serene sanctuary in the heart of the beautiful Franschhoek Valley.
As it re-emerges under new ownership, Le Franschhoek is undergoing a soft refurbishment of its food and beverage facilities, with a new menu being introduced in July and the re-introduction of the renowned Swiss Farm-style High Tea of yesteryear.
Chris Snyman, Le Franschhoek general manager, says under the Dream Hotels & Resorts portfolio, Le Franschhoek will be able to retain the unique identity it has developed and continue to invest in its staff, who are all undergoing International Hotel School training.
“Dream Hotels & Resorts has an incredibly diverse portfolio of properties countrywide, and each of these has retained their distinct personality, characteristics and uniqueness. Within the Dream family, we can be assured that the flavours of Le Franschhoek are retained. We look forward to joining such a forward-thinking, varied portfolio and adding value as one of its flagship hotels,” Chris concludes.
