Sleep sound at The Westin Cape Town | The Planner

jjjAccording to a survey conducted recently by Sleep Cycle app, South Africans are the earliest risers on a Monday morning with an average wake up time of 6:09 and the majority of us only sleep for about 6 hours a night. South Africa was also found to be one of the countries that apparently wake up grumpy on Tuesdays – something that The Westin Cape Town now has a remedy for.

Sleeping well is perhaps the single most important guest experience when staying at a hotel. It’s what we judge most hotels on – was the bed comfortable, was the pillow lumpy and did I get a good night’s rest?

The Westin Cape Town, situated adjacent to the CTICC, has recently launched the Sleep-Well Menu which has been created to ensure guests get the best night’s rest possible, especially after a long day of travelling. Recommended by the experts at SuperFoodsRx, the selections on the menu are packed with amino acids, vitamins and minerals that promote sound sleep.

The Sleep-Well Menu consists of items such as:

  • Citrus shrimp and soba noodle with tatsoi, orange, cilantro and avocado dressing
  • Smoked turkey avocado sandwich wrapped in a whole-grain soft tortilla with edamame humus
  • A bedtime snack which is low-fat berry yoghurt with walnut granola

Herbal Tea is also available to help guests unwind and re-centre. The Westin advises that these superfoods are enjoyed 1 to 2 hours before bedtime to enhance your rest and enrich your well-being.
