Targeted promotional product focus announced for Markex 2016 | The Planner

The ever-popular Markex show has been completely revamped, evolving into a fresher, more focused event for 2016. Taking place from 6 to 7 July at the Sandton Convention Centre in Johannesburg, the 2016 iteration of this event – one that is 29 years in the making – will be a targeted promotional product event aimed specifically at resellers of promotional products and their corporate buyers.

According to Specialised Exhibitions Montgomery event director, Joshua Low, the B2B trade exhibition company has also taken the decision to introduce an dedicated intensive marketing focussed event in 2017.
“After conducting in-depth, independent research with previous Markex exhibitors, we identified a need within the market for one exhibition that focuses expressly on the promotional products industry, and a separate, content-driven event for marketeers, hence the decision to create two highly focussed shows,” he adds.

“The 2016 Markex event will feature suppliers and resellers of corporate and promotional gifts – from bags, tablet holders, umbrellas and golfing products, to branded pens and pencils, gift sets, lanyards, notebooks, drinkware and USB drives – or branded clothing and caps. Visitors including resellers and corporates buyers will also be specifically targeted.”

The new, concentrated two-day show will help to highlight new innovations within this sector, and provide a vital platform to network and learn about new trends and design applications that will have an impact on the industry as a whole.”
Louw explains that all 2016 exhibitors will be housed within one hall, which will include a “reseller zone” as an added attraction for the entire marketplace, including end-users.

“The reseller zone will be open to corporate buyers on the first day of the show, while the corporate gifting side of the show will be strictly for resellers of promotional products on the first day, and on the second day until 12pm. From 12pm on the second day of the show, the entire hall will be opened up to allow access for both resellers and corporate end-users.”

The show will provide the ideal platform to network with current clients, generate new leads and business, tap into the African market, and keep visitors and exhibitors alike up-to-date with the latest industry trends and innovations, Louw adds.
