5 000, 80 and 7 – these are some of the key numbers turnkey exhibition service supplier 3D Group has been working with recently. They apply to FACIM, the Maputo International Trade Fair held in Mozambique annually, and at which 3D has built stands for client for 4 years in a row now. The 3D team took 80 tons of equipment across the border and built some 5 000m2 of stand space including the Italian and German Pavilions. But there are 2 other numbers that make the team’s achievement even greater: 9 and 4. Much of the equipment was held up at the border post for 9 days, leaving the team just 4 days in which to get the build done.
Shortly thereafter, a team 35 from 3D in Johannesburg headed down to KwaZulu-Natal and Routes Africa 2015. With 6 stands to perfect, it was going to be tight. The build started on the Thursday at 12 noon and the team worked until 22h00 only to return at 08h00 on the Friday to work until midnight, and return again on the Saturday at 08h00. The show kicked off on Sunday morning, and the team eventually finished up back at the hotel at around 15h00.
“That’s some tough going. I’m incredibly proud of the team which delivered quality work under tremendous time pressure. Well done, everyone,” says sales and marketing director, Conrad Kullmann.
