Tremendous Horse Trails will set up a business close to Luwawa Forest Lodge in northern Malawi in April and will be open for day rides on May 1.
The company intends to create a 75km trail with simple log cabins placed about 25km apart. A guide will accompany all rides, with the emphasis on slow, careful riding that allows the rider to take in the surroundings. Each log cabin will accommodate four people and have hot water, a shower, toilet, solar-powered lighting, running water and a wood-fired stove for cooking and heating.
For family and friends who don’t ride, transport to the cabins can be provided at an extra charge. Luwawa Forest Lodge will also look at providing day rides, self-catering trail rides and full safari rides.
