Buffelsdrift Game Lodge is a sprawling game farm in the foothills of the Swartberg Mountains in the Cango Valley, Pristine bushveld. Lush vegetation and a 5 ha dam provides a haven for twenty game species and more than 217 bird species.
Situated 6.5km outside Oudtshoorn, en route the Cango Caves, the lodge is in the heart of ostrich country, half-an hour’s drive from the Swartberg Nature Reserve.
In May 2004 this beautiful Nature Reserve became part of the 6th South-African World Heritage Site offering a wealth of endemic plant species.
ACCOMMODATION
Buffelsdrift Game Lodge offers 9 Luxury waterfront tents (situated on the water’s edge), 16 luxury tents and 4 luxury family tents. Each one with its own en-suite bathroom and private outdoor shower, air-conditioning, mini-bar, digital safe, tea/coffee facilities and a game viewing deck.
Can accommodate a total of 65 persons in our 29 tents either twin or king size beds. Our swimming pool is situated in between the waterfront tents for accommodation guests only.
‘LOOK OUT’ LOUNGE
The lookout lounge is situated next to reception with a large stone fireplace in the middle, overlooking our 5 hectare dam with the Swartberg Mountain Range in the distance. On arrival relax with a welcome drink while completing the registration card, while the guide takes your luggage to your waterfront or luxury tent.
CONFERENCE FACILITIES
A modern conference venue with all the latest AV technology and fully air-conditioned, can accommodate up to 80 delegates in Cinema style. The Conference venue is situated overlooking a natural waterhole. Teambuilding and incentive programs can be arranged. *Package available on request.
A KAROO WEDDING CHAPEL
This quaint wooden chapel is situated on the edge of a natural water hole with a wide wooden deck as entrance to the intimate little chapel. The deck is an extension to the restaurant and this creates a beautiful space for wedding guests to take their seats and witness the couple exchanging their wedding vows. *Package prices on request
BUSH WEDDING
For a smaller wedding, the ceremony can take place under thorn tree bushes with some of our resident elephants as witnesses. This package includes use of the conference room for the reception and a complimentary honeymoon suite with breakfast and a bush safari for the newlyweds. *Package prices on request.
RESTAURANT
Our A La Carte & Buffet Restaurant specializing in local cuisine, fully air-conditioned for those typical hot days of the Klein Karoo, with a lovely large stone fireplace for those chilly nights in the winter months and magnificent views of the Swartberg Mountains in the distance. One can also sit on the deck overlooking the dam and watch the hippos playing below.
THE OPEN-AIR “BAR WITH A VIEW”
The open-air cash bar is fully licensed and offers a wide range of local wines, cellar selections, spirits and soft drinks.
