TEN YEARS AGO the owner of Clico Boutique Hotel created a small, urban hotel, offering personalized service, a home-from-home go-to for leisure and business travellers, with fabulous food.
Travel-weary guests took delight in the extra large, feather-soft beds, private balconies overlooking the intimate garden spaces, attentive staff, and delicious dining as well as wine pairing options. They told their colleagues, friends and family about this hidden gem in leafy Rosebank, and, voila, the private little Eden so conveniently situated near the business and shopping hubs of Gauteng got busy.
Today, Clico is also home to a stunning restaurant, completed last year, open to the public 7 days a week, offering alfresco as well as indoor dining options, while vistas of the private garden and age-old trees are still part and parcel of the relaxed ambience of the 5-star property.
Owner Jeanette Schwegman and her management have taken notice of their regular diners’ preferred menu choices over the past 10 years and will be celebrating this milestone birthday by including 10 timeless favourite dishes created by head chef Peter van Schaik and his team this winter, such as:
Starters
Confit salmon, vanilla star anise and juniper poached, turnip and apple puree, sea food essence, sweet and sour apple, watercress, liquorice and nasturtium; venison pie, burnt spring onion, truffle crme fresh, blueberry jus vinaigrette, pine emulsion.
