Congratulations Fortis’ Trainees Class of 2016 | The Planner

In 2016, Capital Hotel School, a leading institution for Hospitality and Professional Cookery entered into a partnership with the Fortis Hotels, training 21 of their trainees and staff in either Professional Cookery and Hospitality Management qualifications. Out of this group, a whopping 19 learners achieved their qualifications cum laude all while working full time.

This was the first time in 17 years that Capital Hotel School trained a group of full-time employed learners, to become qualified with internationally accredited Diplomas in both the above disciplines. The course consisted of blended learning methods comprising of contact time during scheduled block releases (lectures), learning material and guidance through distance/e-learning methods, practical training at one of Capital Hotel School’s fully equipped training centres, and workplace-based assessments and assignments.

Capital Hotel School Principal and Managing Director, Ronel Bezuidenhout says, “We take our hat off to Fortis Hotels, as well as each trainee that they put forward for these programmes. This is testament of what can happen when industry and training providers work hand in hand to ensure that its learners complete recognised and accredited training, achieving full national and international qualifications.”

Trainees and staff graduated on the 19th of January 2018.
