Pitch Sports Entertainment and Media (PTY) Ltd in partnership with Expo Centre have announced the launch of the second edition of We Are Football Festival, this unique kind football festival to be held on the 17 & 18 of November 2018 at Expo Centre, Nasrec, Johannesburg
The We Are Football festival will provide football fans a chance to immerse themselves in football activities in a social setting. Activities include SIX-A-SIDE games, eFootball, Freestyle Football as well as food stalls, DJs and live music performances. The festival gives an opportunity for football fans to meet their heroes and heroines and talk and live football for the day. There will also be great prizes to be won from different competitions. It also happens at the backdrop of a key AFCON 2019 qualifier where Bafana Bafana meets Nigeria at the FNB Stadium.
“Football is a beautiful game enjoyed by many in our country and we are excited to create the We Are Football festival. For us, it’s all about creating a world where former and current football players, fans and those passionate about the game of millions, can get together in a central venue to celebrate the game of football,” says Errol Madlala, Director of Pitch Sports Entertainment and Media (PTY) Ltd.
To unite people in their love and support for Bafana Bafana, Pitch Sports Entertainment have roped in football legends such as Mark Williams, Phil Masinga and Benni McCarthy with more legends to come and help call on South Africans to “COME SHOW YOUR LOVE” during the festival. This year’s festival includes the AFCON qualifier match as festival weekend special tickets also include a Bafana Bafana match ticket.
Craig Newman, CEO of Expo Centre, knows that football is part of the fabric of South African culture and says of the festival “South Africa has such passionate football fans and has produced many legends of the game. We are proud to be part and host an event that showcases the best of who we are as a nation and give people an opportunity to live out their love of the game”.
Oskido of Kalawa Jazmee will be amongst entertainers who will play at the official Bafana Bafana after-party when the game ends at the festival. We are encouraging fan branches, entertainers, social and corporate teams and stockvels to enter the 6-a-side competition which has a prize of R25000.00.
