COVID-19 tourism impact survey | The Planner

The Department of Tourism (including all provincial and national tourism entities) has joined forces with International Finance Corporation (IFC), the Tourism Business Council of South Africa (TBCSA) and the Southern African Tourism Services Association (SATSA), to collaborate on a single survey gauging the impact of COVID-19 on the entire tourism industry.

“We appreciate this is a difficult time for tourism and that you are under considerable stress. However, we need to understand fully the depth and breadth of the impact, how effective support has been, and what kind of help is still required,” says a media release on the survey.

If your business operates within the tourism industry, you are encouraged to complete the survey by following this link.

This needs to be done before 16 April 2020, after which date the survey will close. It will take approximately 10 to 15 minutes to complete, and the results will be anonymous and aggregated so that the data of individual business cannot be identified.

The survey will be repeated three times over the next 12 months so that any changes to business can be tracked over time.

The results will be published and shared widely with key decision-makers in government, financial institutions and development partners.
