Following the unprecedented coronavirus pandemic and ensuing lockdowns that have been put in place across the world, 3S Media would like to reiterate its commitment to the industry by ensuring that the Women in MICE Awards goes ahead this coming August, with the exact date and venue yet to be confirmed.
“While we realise that there is still much uncertainty around events taking place locally, we feel it is more important than ever that we encourage and recognise the women who have, particularly during the crisis, made strides to ensure our industry weathers the storm. To support the ongoing evolution of the Awards, we relaunched the event earlier this year under the theme ‘2.0’,” says Shanna Jacobsen, editor of Meetings magazine and part of the 3S Media group, producers of the Women in MICE Awards.

Conceptualised and launched in 2014, the Women in MICE Awards 2020 marks the seventh instalment of the prestigious event. The Awards will, for the first time, be categorised to encompass representation from across the length and breadth of the industry, with shortlisted candidates selected by a panel of judges who will then be profiled online. The public will then vote for the winner of each category, who will be chosen based on the number of votes received.
“We strongly encourage all industry players to nominate their event heroines this year. To try make sure that this process is as easy and as painless as possible, we have various ways in which this can be done, including through our website [HERE], and our specially dedicated wim@3smedia.co.za email,” notes Shanna.
The deadline for nominations is 30 June 2020.
The organisers of the Women in MICE Awards will confirm the event details once the lockdown has been lifted.
