Sun City’s Valley of Waves will reopen on 23 September 2020, making it a possible destination for those South Africans seeking a long weekend escape.
“The Valley of Waves is one of our most popular attractions, so we’re delighted that we can open it in time for Heritage Day. We have been inundated with enquiries from people wanting to know when it will reopen,” says Sun City General Manager Brett Hoppé.
The popular attraction remained closed when the rest of Sun City re-opened on 02 September due to a maintenance upgrade of the wave generating mechanisms. These are responsible for creating the 6-foot swells that are ideal for surfing, and which taper off over 120 meters onto a sandy beach.
