Barstaurant at Glencairn opens | The Planner

The iconic Glencairn Hotel, nestled between Fish Hoek and Simon’s Town, has been transformed into a new family-friendly restaurant called the Barstaurant at Glencairn.

Open seven days a week for breakfast, lunch and dinner, the establishment serves up wood-fired pizzas and classic favourites like fish and chips, cheeseburgers, steaks and tacos, as well as healthy salads and vegetarian dishes. A sushi menu is on offer from Wednesdays to Sundays, while the kids menu includes make-your-own pizzas among other child-friendly options. For drinks, the extensive offering includes craft beers and beer on tap, and an impressive wine list.

As well as its 80-seater restaurant, the Barstaurant at Glencairn has a lounge area with a fireplace, a sushi bar, a covered terrace, a Sports Bar and a large outdoor play area with jungle gyms and sea views. Live music is available on weekends and sports events are broadcast on big-screens in the bar area.

Barstaurant at Glencairn was created by the Tintswalo group, in partnership with Tintswalo Atlantic’s general managers Ryno and Melissa du Rand, and well-known restauranteur Clint Fennel who managed Willoughby’s in the V&A Waterfront for ten years. Together they are excited to embark on the project and create a favourite eatery for adults and children, as well as a destination for celebrating special occasions.
