Four Points by Sheraton will debut in Uganda

Portman Square Limited has signed a deal with Marriott International for the debut of Four Points Sheraton in Kampala, Uganda.

Marriott International has signed an agreement with Portman Square Limited to establish the Four Points by Sheraton brand in Kampala, Uganda.

The Four Points by Sheraton Kampala is due to open in 2022. According to an official statement received by theplanner.guru, the property โ€œwill reflect the brandโ€™s promise of โ€˜travel reinventedโ€™, providing everything that matters most to todayโ€™s independent travellers who seek balance on the road including timeless style and comfort with genuine service.โ€

The Four Points brand has been well-received within East Africa and thus far, there are four properties spread across Kenya and Tanzania. The success of the Four Points by Sheraton Nairobi Airport is what Portman Square Limited hopes to replicate in Uganda.

Franchised and managed

The hotel will be operated under a franchise and management agreement with the owners and developers of the property, Portman Square Limited.

โ€œWe are excited to debut the Four Points by Sheraton brand in Uganda and further strengthen our relationship with Portman Square. Four Points is one of the fastest-growing hospitality brands in the world and we are continuing to see great opportunities to expand the brandโ€™s portfolio across Africa,โ€ commented Yasin Munshi, director of development for East Africa at Marriott International.

Once open in 2022, the Four Points by Sheraton Kampala will be comprised of 142 guestrooms. Facilities at the hotel include a restaurant, lobby bar and lounge, a fitness centre with a swimming pool, as well as 600 square meters of meeting and banqueting space.

The Four Points by Sheraton Kampala will be located at the foot of Kololo Hill โ€“ an upscale residential area that is close to Nakasero, the central business district of Kampala. The property will be approximately 40km from Entebbe International Airport.

โ€œHaving seen the success of the brand elsewhere in the region, we believe the Four Points by Sheraton Kampala will become a hub for the modern business and leisure traveller looking for an effortless experience. We look forward to welcoming guests with the brandโ€™s signature warm and uncomplicated service style, which we believe will resonate well for the Ugandan market,โ€ noted Vivek Mathur, a representative at Portman Square Limited.
