Marriott Hotels debuts in Nigeria with the opening of Lagos Marriott Hotel Ikeja.

Marriott Hotels, the signature brand of the extensive Marriott Bonvoy portfolio, has announced that it will be debuting in Nigeria with the much-anticipated opening of its Lagos Marriott Hotel Ikeja.

According to a statement received by theplanner.guru late last week, the hotel, comprised of 206 guestrooms and 44 suites, is officially open for business.

β€œWe are excited to have opened the Lagos Marriott Hotel Ikeja, bringing Marriott Hotels’ transformed vision to Nigeria… Lagos is a vibrant and bustling city with much to see and do for leisure and business travellers. What better place to debut the Marriott Hotels brand in Nigeria with its thoughtful service and intuitive spaces that enable guests to be inspired during their stay,” commented Volker Heiden, area vice president for sub-Saharan Africa at Marriott International.

Guest experience

Although located in the heart of the city centre, the Lagos Marriott Hotel Ikeja is easily accessible. With the Murtala Muhammed International Airport just 15 minutes away, the hotel is a short distance to the third mainland bridge, providing guests easy access to the other side of Ikeja.

The hotel is close to the city’s main attractions, as well as several leisure facilities and shopping malls.

β€œGuests at Lagos Marriott Hotel Ikeja will be able to free themselves of distractions when they step into our hotel, allowing them to focus solely on being the best they can be…”

Guests will be comfortable in spacious rooms designed with all the expected in-room amenities, while β€œnatural colours, crisp lines, purposeful lighting and comfortable bedding create an intimate and peaceful space for guests to get into their best headspace for success.”

β€œWe are excited to welcome local residents and travellers to our inspiring space and look forward to creating experiences that nurture their creativity,” says Rudi Janse van Rensburg, general manager, Lagos Marriott Hotel Ikeja.

The hotel is home to a diverse selection of restaurants that prepare a range of regional and international cuisines. The Azure Grill Restaurant serves a variety of dishes that are cooked on an authentic charcoal grill while The WAKAME specialises in fusion cuisine that incorporates flavours from China, Japan, Thailand and Northern India. For international favourites, The Koriko & Co. is an all-day dining buffet restaurant featuring live cooking stations.

β€œGuests at Lagos Marriott Hotel Ikeja will be able to free themselves of distractions when they step into our hotel, allowing them to focus solely on being the best they can be,” notes Rudi.
