The Event Greening Forum (EGF) is happy to report that its membership base is showing steady growth after the Covid pandemic, with many new event industry members joining the organisation and citing a commitment to making their business and events more sustainable.
EGF chairperson Morwesi Ramonyai says, “The increased interest in joining the EGF is a healthy indication that more business owners are looking to decarbonise their activities and join the movement towards a net zero future. We are encouraged by this shift, as while there has been broad agreement on the value of being more sustainable in the past, there has often also been a hesitation to take the first step towards improved sustainability.”

The Net Zero Carbon Events Pledge
Morwesi shares that this year a big focus for the EGF will be to support the local events industry in understanding and adopting the Net Zero Carbon Events Pledge. “The Net Zero Carbon Events Pledge is a significant global movement, and one that is critical for the long-term viability of our industry. We intend to unpack what it involves and help local businesses understand and interpret it in very practical terms.”
